1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using MatTest ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MatTest is a web-based tool for analyzing uniaxial tensile test data. It calculates mechanical properties including but not limited to elastic modulus, yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, fracture strain, strain hardening exponent, and true stress-strain values.

The Service is provided free of charge for research and educational purposes.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

IMPORTANT: MatTest is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

The calculated results are estimates based on standard engineering methods applied to the data provided. MatTest makes no guarantee that:

  • Results are accurate, complete, or free from errors
  • The algorithms used are appropriate for all material types or test conditions
  • Results comply with any specific testing standard (ASTM, ISO, etc.)
  • The service will be available without interruption

4. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall MatTest, its developers, or contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or the results produced by it.

This includes but is not limited to damages arising from:

  • Incorrect mechanical property values used in engineering decisions
  • Reliance on the Service for safety-critical applications
  • Data loss or corruption
  • Service unavailability

5. Intended Use

MatTest is intended for:

  • Academic research and education
  • Preliminary data exploration and screening
  • Comparative analysis within a research context

MatTest is NOT intended for:

  • Structural engineering design or certification
  • Safety-critical material qualification
  • Regulatory or standards compliance reporting
  • Any application where errors could result in harm, injury, or financial loss

For any application requiring certified results, engage an accredited testing laboratory and qualified materials engineer.

6. User Responsibilities

As a user of MatTest, you agree to:

  • Verify that results are reasonable and consistent with your material and test conditions
  • Not rely solely on MatTest results for safety-critical decisions
  • Ensure you have the right to analyze the data you upload (e.g., proprietary data ownership)
  • Not use the Service for illegal purposes

7. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
